No you're right! It would be a little insulting to portray the album as just country. The reason I made the link wsa because that's market the album is aimed at. There is very much a folk/rock influence in there. I think that's why the album stands out particularly well, as it draws outside of the scope of its target category. It's one of the very many reasons I like what Steve does so much, and goes hand in hand with what my releases aim to do, i.e, not be bound by the production directions of a particular genre, and more to the point, not let those boundaries get in the way of the message you are trying to get a cross.
Most singer/songwriters say what they think all the time (you see them shooting their mouths off about any given topic), but its not so often that you get a singer/songwriter who writes and perform exactly what they think and feel.
